It's really amazing what a little bit of paper can become. Took a little bit of paper, scored, pleated and glued and you have great Halloween rosettes. I bought some black branches and mini-clothespins from Hobby Lobby and I've got a great bit of Halloween decor. I've got to say I love Halloween.

I'm Watching You . . .
Okay, I'm obsessed with Pinterest. Started in on the site only a month ago and have probably been on it everyday since. Someone like me, who is total visual, it couldn't be a bigger bonanza. Combine with the fact that I will surely tackle any craft under sun, creative combustion will ensue. Sometimes the idea is perfect as is and other times the ideas are just a jumping off point for my creative brain.
The "Eyeball Wreath" is one of those quick little projects inspired by Pinterest. Wood frame from my stash, Dollar Store package of googly eyes, a little black paint, chip board letters, and a scrap of ribbon became the perfect Halloween wreath for my door. So it was really eight packages of googly eyes. Especially because it's not like anyone elses, except maybe the person who posted it on Pinterest.
Watch out Pinterest. Me, and my hundreds of googly eyes, are watching you!

Vintage Fright cards
Last night, I got to teach a fun little class at Simple Pleasures called "Vintage Fright Night". The students and I had a great time creating these vintage inspired cards using scanned art, Tim Holtz dies and stamps and lots of distressed papers. I'm not really sure why this holiday appeals to me so much, but I know it's rubbing off on the boys. So far this year we have made 5 trips to the various Halloween stores that sprout up in empty store fronts. After one such trip, my 3-year old, Lasson, asked me if zombie babies like bunny rabbits and we've called Harrison the "Creepmeister" since he was about 2. My mom swears it's because I let my boys watch "Nightmare Before Christmas" before they even turned three. I guess they have a little Tim Burton in them. I can think of worse Hollywood people to be fascinated with. I personally think he's a creative genius.
And as for zombie babies liking bunny rabbits? I'm not really up on the preferences of the Undead, Lasson.
