Valentine's Day at Our House

Me:
"Let's go to Sunflower Market and get lobster tails for Daddy for dinner tonight."

Lasson:
"NO WAY! I hate monster tails."

Well, that's how the day started on Valentines. Little Lasson showing me over and over why he is one of the three people I love most in this world. Thought I'd share our table setting for the day, unfortunately there are no actual dinner pictures. Got so wrapped up in timing the tails correctly and broiling the fish (Tilapia for the boys, no monster tails wasted), that I forgot to pick up the darn camera. One of these days I'll get the hang of this blogging and have professional grade photos for every step. (Wink, wink).

I will share the link for our dessert, because it was soooo good! And it was amazingly easy. Warn you that just a spoonful or two will do, it's so decadent! Enjoy today or file away for a special anniversary or birthday.

A Month of Love

So, I am always trying to find ways to show my kids I love them, but more importantly show each other the same thing. Being our family is small and are older parents, there will come a time they will need to rely on each other. On any given day they can be the best of friends or mortal enemies. On nights Lasson hasn't snuck into our bed, I know he can be found curled up next to his brother in the top bunk. I asked Harrison if he minded and was met with a noncommital shoulder shrug. When pressed further he told me its OK mom. Secretly I know he likes the company. He was an "only" for four and half years and now thrives in big brotherhood.

Well, back to my project of the day. I made the entire family little love envelopes. We are going to leave message for one another all through the month of February. We had a "Family Home Evening" on loving one another and hopefully it will keep the bickering to a minimum. We'll see, wink, wink!

P.S.
If I get a few comments, I might just write a tutorial and pattern.

Okay, Okay, I've been promising for over a year that when Lasson started preschool I would update my blog in a timely manner. Well that day is today. We sent that little guy off to school with only a few tears, but those were by Mom! Never have a known a kiddo so independent and ready for school. After we took a few pictures and put on his backpack, he was ready to walk the 5 blocks to school on his own. Needless to say, his Dad and I took him by the hand and walked him down to school.

Love that little guy and his 3-year old gumption. He's overcome a lot in a short amount of time and I look forward to seeing him blossom as he learns. He's smart as a whip and will give his teachers a run for their money.
